Chocolate Lip Gloss

3 tablespoons cocoa butter

4 or 5 chocolate chips

1 capsule vitamin E

Melt all ingredients in a double boiler, and then blend with a spoon until the mixture is very smooth. Put into a container and refrigerate until solid.

Cranberry Lip Gloss

1 tablespoon almond oil

10 fresh cranberries

1 teaspoon honey

1 teaspoon petroleum jelly (optional - for more shine)

Mix all the ingredients and then place them in a microwave or heat-resistant container. Heat in the microwave or a water bath until the mixture just begins to boil (1-2 minutes in the microwave). Stir well and gently mash the berries. Let the mixture stand for at least 5 minutes.

Strain the mixture through a fine sieve to remove all pieces of cranberry. Stir and allow to cool completely. When cool, spoon into a clean container.

To use: Spread a small amount onto your lips.

Vanilla Lip Gloss

1 tablespoon grated beeswax

1 tablespoon coconut oil

1/8 teaspoon vitamin E oil

1/8 teaspoon vanilla extract

Place the beeswax, coconut oil and vitamin E oil in an ovenproof container. Heat gently until the wax and oils are melted. Stir in the vanilla extract and mix well. Pour the mixture into a clean container and allow to cool completely before using.

This is a fun and easy recipe!! Who would have known that Kool-Aid makes great lip-gloss?

Lip Gloss

2 tablespoons solid shortening (Crisco),

Mix the solid shortening together with the drink mix, microwave until mixture is melted, pour into a small container, and set in the refrigerator for 30 to 40 minutes.

Honey Kool-Aid Sweet Gloss

2 tablespoons vegetable shortening (Crisco)

1 tablespoon Kool-Aid

1 tablespoon Honey,

2 tablespoon Hot Water

1. Use a small bowl to mix 1 tbsp of the solid vegetable shortening and 1 tsp of honey. In a separate bowl, mix the drink mix and 1/4 tsp of hot water until it is dissolved. Stir in as much of the drink mix as possible. The actual amount will depend on the temperature of water. You can choose the color and flavor of you lip-gloss by the type of drink mix you use.

Ingredients:

2 parts beeswax

2 parts cocoa butter

1 part coconut oil

1 part grapeseed oil

some flavoring if you want

Melt your waxes butters and oils down. ( I use a double boiler) when it's all melted and combined, remove from heat, add flavoring if desired and pour. Ready to go as soon as it is cooled. Voila! Done! Go watch a movie.

Another mixture for lip application is prepared the following way.

Take the root of henna (powdered form) 1 tsp, Almond oil 60 mg, Soft wax 15 gm.

Put Almond oil in the henna root powder and allow it to soak for about 10 days. Strain the solution after 10 days and as explained in the recipe given before, add soft wax after melting it. When your lip paste is cool enough apply it with the help of a lip brush. This will bring a new shine on your lips.

Mix all the ingredients together in a microwave-safe bowl. Microwave for a couple of minutes or until the mixture just begins to boil. ( Bowl may also be heated in a pan of water on a stovetop). Stir well and gently crush the berries. Cool mixture for five minutes and then strain through a fine sieve to remove all the fruit pieces. Stir again and set aside to cool completely. Lip Gloss

Ingredients:

6 TB (3 oz) Glycerin

1 TB (.5 oz) Castor Oil

1 tsp (0.16 oz) Jojoba

To Taste Flavoring

To Taste Sweetener

Blend all together. Best if you let it sit for 24 hours or so before bottling. This works OK in roll on bottles. BUT to have more fun, put in a Wand type dispenser and add cosmetic mica.. oooooo so purdy. Sells better with the mica. This is a little thicker than other lip glosses I have seen online. But it sticks better and leaves a really nice sheen even without mica. Plus nourishes the lips too... even men buy this (sans Mica of course)

COCOA MINT LIP BALM

1.5 oz. cocoa butter (non-deodorize)

1 oz. beeswax

1.5 oz. shea butter

.01 oz. pure Vitamin E

20 drops peppermint essential oil (optional)

You may wish to less or no peppermint if you don't like the ';tingle'; that peppermint leaves behind on your lips; the sensation disappears within a few minutes of application) In a heat proof measuring cup with a lip for pouring, melt together the cocoa butter, shea butter and beeswax over a double boiler. Once the butters and wax have completely liquefied, remove from heat. Stir with

a pop sickle stick to ensure the mix. Add Vitamin E and stir to incorporate. Add the essential oil and stir to combine. While mixture remains hot, pour into lip balm containers. You may spill a bit outside the containers as you get used to steadying your hand to pour. If this happens, wait for the mixture to harden and wipe the containers with a clean cloth. Seal, label and enjoy!!

Basic Lip Gloss

Ingredients:

6 Tablespoons Glycerin

50 Drops Lip Balm Flavoring

10 Drops Liquid Food Coloring

Mix together glycerin, flavoring (I use green apple) and ordinary food coloring (I used red) in a small cup with a pour spout. Fill a roll-on lip gloss bottle about 1/4 with this mixture. Fill remaining space in bottle with light oil such as sweet almond oil. Be sure to leave a little room at the top to insert the roller ball assembly. I've heard that you can add a little mica or glitter, but I've also heard that it may clog the roller.
